We have several great opportunities for therapists, find out how you can join our team.
Dear Fellow SLP:
I am a speech-language pathologist entering my third year as a team member at Boothby Therapy Services. I have been working in the field for almost five years and this has been the best job I’ve had. I spent my first few years working for private practices where the burn out rate was high, the hours were long and the compensation was less than ideal. As I embarked on yet another job search (my third in two years) I began to wonder if I would ever be happy with a job for more than a year- that’s when I met Christopher and Maren Boothby.
Boothby Therapy Services is a unique company employing both speech/language pathologists and occupational therapists as sub-contractors in public schools across New Hampshire. When I first heard this, I was hesitant having heard the horror stories from fellow SLPs about large caseloads and lots of work at home. Maren and Christopher quickly explained that their company was different. At BTS, you choose how much you want to work, how far you wish to travel and even the age groups with which you prefer to work. You also get compensation for your travel and work at home. Their primary goal when placing any therapist is job satisfaction. Maren and Christopher spent time getting to know me and my preferences and they set me up in a wonderful school district where I have been happily working for almost three years now. I have the benefit of school hours, school vacations and a manageable caseload. I am the only SLP on staff with two speech assistants. It is by far the most challenging and rewarding job I have had in my short career.
Perhaps the best perk about being part of Boothby Therapy Services is the support. Whether it is an administrative issue or a tough clinical case, Maren and Christopher are always available and willing to help. I know on any given day I can call Maren and she will be there to discuss a case with me, locate testing material or give me the contact information for someone in the company who specializes in my area of need. Christopher handles any and all administrative issues which tend to arise throughout the school year. He deals with the logistics so therapists can focus their attention on their students.
Another great benefit of working for Boothby Therapy Services is the opportunities for continuing education. The company provides a generous allowance for therapists wishing to attend conferences or workshops. In addition, they host continuing education nights throughout the year so therapists have the opportunity to share the information they learned and listen to presentations from other colleagues. These nights are also a nice way for all the therapists to get together and enjoy Maren’s culinary talents!
Boothby Therapy Services will provide you with the most ideal school setting possible based on your preferences. When I began with the company I worked a full school week and even put in some hours at our office conducting evaluations and seeing a few children for therapy after school. Now I am a new mom looking to work just a four day week in my current school district. Maren and Christopher have been very supportive and willing to accommodate the change in schedule. I know this will ensure that I continue to be happy with my job.
I encourage you to sit down with Maren and Christopher and talk about how you can become happier and more fulfilled in your career. They are great people who have assembled a knowledgeable and talented group of professionals. I am proud to be a member of Boothby Therapy Services and I’d love to have you join our team!
