LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FOR SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY SERVICES

July 7, 2005

To Whom It May Concern,

Last summer I received a letter, much like you are today, from Maren Boothby. At the time I was not seriously considering a job change as my current job as an outpatient pediatric SLP was an ideal position, but I was feeling a little bit unfulfilled at my job, and it was a longer commute than I had wanted. In fact, I was beginning to become somewhat disenfranchised with the world of speech-pathology in general as I was not completely satisfied with my job. I contacted Maren and the rest is history.

In my four years working in our field, I have never been happier. Working with Maren has been a breath of fresh air that has renewed my interest in working within the field of speech pathology. Not only have I gained more confidence in myself, my clinical skills, and grown considerably as a self-employed professional-I love my job!! I can't say enough about how job satisfaction affects every aspect of our lives.

Maren Boothby is the epitome of a motivated and innovative professional. In addition to being a savvy business woman and fabulous SLP, she is generous in every sense of the word. Not only is the compensation attractive, but Maren often has surprise bonuses waiting in the wings that go above and beyond expectations.

Maren's support has been consistent and she is always available. Should any difficulty arise with specific cases, personnel issues, or administrative concerns, Maren is the most professional advocate who will work things out without you having to deal with all of the stress. Maren structures our jobs so that we can deliver services to students and work with the school teams efficiently without having to worry about the "behind the scenes" aspect of working in schools.

After having worked for two years as a full-time public school SLP and one-year as a pediatric outpatient SLP, this past year working with Maren has been the highlight. I have never looked back and look forward to working with her in the years to come. Even if you are completely satisfied in your current job, consider talking with Maren to find out what Speech-Language Pathology services has to offer above and beyond what you feel is satisfactory. Working with Maren has been ideal. I hope you will seriously consider making the change. You deserve it.

Sincerely,

Laura A. Bailey, MS, CCC-SLP
