"The Data DNA protects me from huge caseloads, no planning time and hours and hours of uncompensated work. Now I can actually treat students!"
Jennifer Benjamin, MS, OTR/L
Boothby Therapy Services specializes in meeting the unique therapy needs of schools. Unlike many therapy companies who deliver services in the rehabilitation, skilled nursing, acute care and home settings, as well as school settings, we devote our total attention and energy to perfecting the art of school-based therapy services. Our talented therapists are supported by a Clinical Services Team and a Business Services Team whose first job is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs at the schools with whom we partner.
During our initial meetings, we work with school partners to complete our Data Driven Needs Analysis that details:
- The total number of students on the caseload,
- The severity level / special needs of the students on the caseload,
- The school's systems for IEP writing, documentation of services, progress report writing and evaluating,
- The school's philosophy and preferences,
- Important educational frameworks.
With this critical information in hand, Boothby Therapy Services crafts a plan to meet the total therapy needs of our school partners using the Data Driven Needs Analysis. Subsequent meetings with our school partners provide a clear agreement on our plans for meeting student needs. Therapists are protected from overwhelming duties by an agreement that provides time for non-direct as well as direct services, including time to consult with teachers, score and interpret tests, write evaluations, write progress reports, and complete required documentation.
Boothby Therapy Services knows the importance of thorough and well-written evaluations. Assessment is one of the most important jobs of a school-based therapist. Most of our students are only evaluated every three years, and the findings of that evaluation guide intervention for the subsequent three years. Boothby Therapy Services provides customized support to therapists in test selection, test interpretation and report-writing so each clinician can hone his or her ability to convey findings in a parent-friendly report that will support the student and his or her team. Our company intranet includes templates and score reporting grids for all of the most commonly used standardized test measures. Struggling with an informal assessment? Reference sample write-ups for informal social language assessments or out-of-age-range testing, which are also provided on the company intranet. Have a difficult case? Your Clinical Manager will be happy to serve as a second set of eyes for your report and a sounding board as you work to synthesize findings and craft recommendations.
Boothby Therapy Services maximizes your efficiency and enhances your ability to generate measurable IEP goals and objectives. Boothby Therapy Services therapists have 24-hour access to a bank of measurable goals and objectives via our company intranet. Have you ever experienced writer's block in the midst of a late-night IEP writing session? You can fall back on tried and true goals and objectives we've developed over years of working in the schools. Have you been disappointed by the generic, impersonal goals available through other special education software? Our goals have been developed by our Clinical Services Team and members of our community of therapists; they work for real kids on our real caseloads. Have you ever struggled to pinpoint the right direction for a child with an unfamiliar diagnosis? Chances are someone in our community of therapists has faced the same struggles. No need to start from scratch when you can benefit from the wisdom and experiences of the other therapists on your team.
Boothby Therapy Services builds a community of therapists with expertise to meet the diverse needs of today's students. At Boothby Therapy Services, we know the population of students receiving therapy services in today's schools is diverse and demanding. Medical advances and efforts to place students in the least restrictive environment have brought even more children with even more specialized needs into the regular classroom, and onto the caseloads of our therapists. Rare is the caseload that does not include children with diagnoses such as autism, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, deafness, and cortical visual impairment. It is no longer uncommon to have medically fragile students who are wheelchair bound or tube-fed.
Every therapist at Boothby Therapy Services is provided with a generous continuing education allowance, and therapists are encouraged to build their expertise in specialty areas so that they may be mentors to other therapists. Would you like to talk to someone with expertise in alternative augmentative communication? Your Clinical Manager can connect you. Do you need some direction for tackling your first social communication evaluation? We can help with that too. As you strive to practice with passion and Help Children Succeed, you have a team of expertise behind you!
